Is Crypto really the best use of Blockchain?

Yes, I am intentionally trying to be provocative.
And, No, I'm not JUST being provocative.
All of the public discussion about blockchain related phenomenon talks about bitcoin (or Ethereum, or DOGEcoin, or NFT's, or etc.) as if it was a casino and everyone has a "system" for becoming a crypto tycoon.
Clearly the utility of the permanent and un-hackable ledger goes beyond trading and speculation.
